Meet Dr. Kelsey Maczko
Kelsey Maczko, DMD
A Passion for Painless Dentistry and Healthy Smiles
I am passionate about making the experience at the dental office as comfortable, painless, and as easy as possible for each patient who walks through the door.
I enjoy creating an environment where patients who have dental anxiety feel safe and are able to relax. In doing so, we are able to build a trusting relationship, which helps my patient have optimal oral health and be receptive to learning how to maintain their healthy smile.
Dentistry offers the perfect balance of patient interaction, medicine, and hands-on care. It’s challenging, requiring me to constantly think about what is in the patient’s best interest in order to achieve the desired results, and communicating that to my patient.
Each day I am excited to come to work and come into contact with unique stories and lessons. Every patient – every person – teaches me something new. Getting to know these people on a personal level, and developing a real relationship with each, is an amazing experience!
Education and Professional Activities
- Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology, minor in Chemistry, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
- Doctorate of Dental Medicine, University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry
My profession means the world to me. I went into college with the goal of becoming a dentist and spent eight years working toward that goal. Now, as a practicing dentist, I am able to tend to patients with different needs and desires.
I am able to rid a person of dental pain; I am able to create or restore an aesthetic smile; and I am able to ensure my patients have the very best oral health. I cannot imagine a more fulfilling way to spend my days!
It is crucial I stay at the forefront of the latest advancements in dentistry in order to provide patients with the highest quality care. Continuing education (CE) keeps me up-to-date with the newest information and techniques in dentistry. It also allows me to constantly learn and grow as a practitioner.
I choose to participate in CE – through meetings, lectures, seminars, and online courses – because dentistry is constantly advancing. There are always new things to add to the mental repertoire of information and I want to know them all.
I am an active member of the American Dental Association and Chicago Dental Society. Through these organizations I have access to the latest research, discussions of treatment modalities, and opportunities to learn about the newest technological advances.
Beyond the Practice
I live in my hometown of Prospect Heights and am close to my family: my dad is Dr. Mitch and he works one room down the hall. My mom is Kristy and she works here at the office a few days a week. I have two brothers, too, both of whom live in Chicago.
When I’m not at work I like spending time with family and friends. I enjoy being outdoors, whether for a short walk in the neighborhood or a hike in Colorado, and love to travel. I love finding new restaurants and exploring all that Chicago offers, too!
